PASTOR CARLOS GALVAN grew up in Roseville, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. He learned many important character traits from his parents including the importance of hard work and the need to pursue academic excellence. Pastor Galvan received Christ as his Savior when he was fourteen years old while visiting Calvary Baptist Church in Roseville. He was led to the Lord by a godly Sunday School teacher, Mr. Don Kapanka.
While planning a career as a physician, the Lord called Pastor Galvan to a full time preaching ministry during his junior year of high school. After attending one year at Faithway Baptist College, he transferred to Bob Jones University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Bible as well as a Master of Arts Degree in Bible.
Pastor Galvan and his wife Elaine were married in 1985, and God blessed them with two children. Their daughter Melody married David Brind’Amour in 2010 and they have two daughters, Vanessa and Karissa. They live in Quebec, Canada where they are serving the Lord in their local church. Matthew, the Galvans’ son, married Hannah O’Lear in August of 2014. They live in Dothan, Alabama where Matthew ministers as the associate pastor of Central Baptist Church.
Pastor Galvan served as a youth pastor in a Maryland suburb of Washington D.C., and then went on to pastor churches in New York, Pennsylvania, and since 2003, at Bible Baptist. God opened the door that allowed him to pursue his doctoral degree, and he graduated in 2013 with his Doctor of Pastoral Theology degree from Bob Jones University. His philosophy of ministry is based on Ephesians 4:11 & 12: perfecting the saints to do the work of the ministry so the body of Christ is edified. He believes that when a pastor is faithful in this work, God receives glory through the church’s fulfillment of the Great Commission.
